Kano Health Ministry Organizes Workshop to Develop H-SAP

By Aisha Tahir Saraki  In a decisive move to strengthen public health systems and respond to the findings from the climate and heath vulnerability assessment, the Kano State Ministry of Health has organized a comprehensive workshop aimed at developing a Kano Health State Adaptation Plan (H-SAP). Supported by the UK Government's Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Lafiya Programme,, the primary goal of the workshop is to develop a cohesive and actionable plan that integrates climate resilience into health policies and practices, as in line with the State Government's commitment to enhancing climate resilience within its public health systems. Ma'aji Sumaila Gives Ultimatum to Contractors Over Delayed Project Execution

By Our Reporter   The renovation and upgrade of Kafin Maiyaki Primary Healthcare Center in Kiru to a Cottage Hospital is expected to gain momentum following a 48-hour ultimatum issued by the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Kano State Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila. The ultimatum was given during his statewide inspection tour to assess the progress of ongoing projects. According to a press statement issued by Sagiru Ado Abubakar the Public Relations Officer of the ministry, two contractors are responsible for the renovation and upgrade works at the healthcare center. The Deputy Managing Director of KAROTA, Hon Auwalu Shu'aibu Aranposu who led a team of Marshalls to some major markets and business places said the move was to check the rampant practices by traders and other business owners of flooding the streets with illegal parking of vehicles and display of goods. Kano Commissioner for Rural Engages Parents to Tackle Drug Menace

Abdussalam made the call when he received students from the Faculty of Adult Education and Community Services of Bayero University Kano posted to the ministry for orientation on community awareness. Ma'aji Sumaila Warns Contractors Over Slow Project Execution

By Our Correspondent   The Commissioner Kano State Ministry for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring, and Evaluation, Nura Ma'aji Sumaila, has issued a stern warning to contractors over delays in the execution of ongoing projects. This came during an inspection tour conducted yesterday across nine key project sites in the state. The inspection began with an assessment of overlay works along Murtala Muhammad Way. The Commissioner also visited major infrastructure sites, including the construction of two flyovers and underpasses at Dan Agundi and Tal’ud Roundabout, as contained in a press statement issued to EVOLVED REPORTERS by Sagiru Ado Abubakar the Public Relations Officer of the ministry. Abba Ganduje for his continued dedication to youth empowerment and community development, following the successful distribution of Solar Home Systems to 160 selected beneficiaries from Tofa and Rimingado Local Government Areas.
