Kano Commissioner for Rural Engages Parents to Tackle Drug Menace

Kano State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development Abdulkadir Abdussalam has urged parents to be vigilant in order to make sure their children and wards have stay away from drug abuse.
Abdussalam made the call when he received students from the Faculty of Adult Education and Community Services of Bayero University Kano posted to the ministry for orientation on community awareness.
The Commissioner, who was represented by the Director Community Bashir Tijjani, described drugs abuse as dangerous to youth development and progress, as contained in a press release issued to EVOLVED REPORTERS by Faruk Gali Masanawa, the Public Relations Officer of the ministry.
He therefore Called on parents and teachers in schools to protect youth from engaging in any harmful practices that could destroy their lives.
Alh Abdulkadir Abdussalam assured that the state government under the leadership of Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf would continue to do everything possible to assist women and youths to realize their potential.
Earlier, one of the lecturers from the Department of Adult Education Bayero university, Dr Jamilu Ahmad presented a lecture at Government Girls r Senior Secondary School Dukawuya as part of their visit to different schools in the state.
On her part, the Principal of Government Girls Senior Secondary School Dukawuya Hajiya Halima Ali Kabir represented by malama Hassana muktar in charge of Guidance and Counselling in the schoo thanked the state government, ministry for rural and community development Kano state and the department of adult education Bayero university kano gracing the lecture.
On behalf of the students of government girls Senior Secondary Schol Dukawuya Fatima Nasir assured of their readiness to use What they have learnt during the lectures.
