KSHMB Executive Secretary Congratulates Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on 2nd Anniversary, Commends Landmark Achievements in Health Sector.

The Executive Secretary of the Kano State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda, has extended warm congratulations to the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on the occasion of his 2nd year anniversary in office.

In a statement released on Thursday, Dr. Nagoda described Governor Yusuf’s leadership as “transformational, people-focused, and deeply impactful, especially in the health sector.”

“Your Excellency, the past two years have witnessed a remarkable turnaround in the health landscape of Kano State. From the rehabilitation and upgrade of general hospitals and primary healthcare centres, to the recruitment of health professionals and restoration of essential services, your administration has demonstrated an unshakable commitment to quality and accessible healthcare for all.”

Dr. Nagoda highlighted notable achievements including the re-introduction of free maternal and child healthcare, expansion of diagnostic and surgical services, and provision of modern medical equipment across facilities in the state.

He noted that these efforts have significantly improved healthcare delivery and restored public confidence in government-owned hospitals. “The reforms under your watch have placed Kano on a new path towards achieving Universal Health Coverage,” he said.

While offering heartfelt prayers for Allah’s continued guidance, protection, and strength for the Governor, Dr. Nagoda reaffirmed the full support of the Hospitals Management Board for the continuation of the Governor’s administration into a second term.

“The work you have started is visionary and deserves continuity. As health professionals and as citizens, we stand firmly behind your leadership for the progress and prosperity of our dear state,” the statement concluded.

Society launches 2025 humanitarian activities calendar in Kano

By Zainab Olufunmi  The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), Kano state branch, has urged volunteers to embark on house to house enlightenment to educate mothers on childcare, hygiene, and environmental health.  The Executive Secretary of the NRCS Kano Branch, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, stated this at a news conference on Monday in Kano.  He said that the enlightenment is meant to ensure the well-being of children and the community at large. He reaffirmed the society's dedication to supporting government and aiding communities in Kano through continuous humanitarian efforts. He launched the 2025 humanitarian activities calendar to enhance public awareness and coordination of its services across the state and beyond. The calendar, he said would serve as guide for humanitarian interventions across various local government areas and communities in Kano and Nigeria at large.
