Commissioner for Tourism and Culture Visits Key Cultural Institutions

By Kabiru Haruna Kano State's Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, paid a familiarization visit to the History and Culture Bureau and the Tourism Board on December 30, 2024. The visit aimed to evaluate ongoing operations and explore opportunities for improvement within the institutions under her ministry . According to Amina Lawan Isah, the Information Officer of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, the Commissioner praised Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf for his steadfast support in fostering tourism and preserving the state's rich cultural heritage. She lauded the significant strides made by the two parastatals, such as infrastructure renovations and the introduction of innovative cultural programs. DMCSA to Partner With NDLEA to Fight Drug Abuse in Kano

By Farouk Isa Musa  Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency has solicited for the support and cooperation of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to fight the prevalence of drug abuse in the state . This request was made by the Director-General of the DMCSA Pharm. Gali Sule, when he and the members of the management paid a courtesy visit to NDLEA's office. Pharm. Sule said they were at the Commandant's office to seek for the collaboration between the two agencies to fight the ever-growing drug abuse throughout the state. Speaking in her office, Aisha Lawan Saji-Rano expressed her determination to workhard for the upliftment of tourism sector and revitalization the good culture of people of Kano state, as enshrined in the government's policies and programs. FRSC decorates 44 new officers, marshals in Kano

By Bosede Olufunmi The Federal Road Safety Corps in Kano (FRSC) has decorated 44 newly promoted officers and admonished them be courageous and of good conduct. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that among those promoted were; three chief route commander (CRC) promoted to assistant corps commander (ACC), six route commanders to superintendent route commander (SRC). Two assistant route commander (ARC) were promoted to deputy route Commander (DRC), three marshals to inspectors while 30 road marshal assistants were also decorated in Kano. The Sector Commander, FRSC Kano Command, Umar Matazu while decorating the officers on Friday at the Federal Road Safety Corps office, urged them to reciprocate the good gesture done to them by giving their best. The awards the Agency bagged include the '2024 Award for Outstanding Performance in Public Private Partnership,' the 'Patronage Award of the Year,' and the 'Recognition Award for Outstanding Contribution for the Year 2024.' The event, held in Porto Golf Hotel Kano, brought together key stakeholders from various sectors to deliberate on the successes, challenges, and future pathways for combating corruption in the state.
