Tender Evaluation Workshop: Kano DMCSA Aims for Sustainable Health Supply

By Frank Pinicop  In a move to maintain the steady supply of qualitative and affordable drugs and other medical supplies as a part of a coordinated efforts to generally enhance healthcare service delivery at all medical facilities throughout the state, the Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) has organized a comprehensive 6-day tender evaluation workshop. The meeting, which is currently taking place in Kaduna, aims to review the bid proposals concerning the procument of medical supplies for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. This evaluation process involves a panel of experts from various fields, including pharmacy, medical science, public procurement, and accounting and finance. Health Supplies Procurement: Kano Govt Conducts Workshop

Musa  To promote transparency and efficiency in service delivery especially in the health sector, Kano State Government had organized a 4-day workshop on the procument of health commodities for staff selected from the Ministry of Health, the Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) and other relevant ministries and agencies. Speaking during the commencement of the program, the Chairman of the meeting and Director General of DMCSA, Pharm.Gali Sule said the workshop was organized by the state government in collaboration with Chartered Institute of Procument and Supply (CIPS) and it seeks to specifically support the Procument Unit of DMCSA with an Agency-specific operational document to carry out its mandate in line with the organization's overall business objectives. Desilt Drainages to Mitigate Building Collapse:, Red Cross Tasks Kano Residents

By Zainab Olufunmi The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Red Cross Society, Kano branch, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, has urged residents to desilt drainages in order to curtail flooding and building collapse, especially during this raining season. Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kano, Abdullahi said the action was necessary in order to create easy passage of water. “Climate change is real, there is heavy rainfall on daily basis across the country which can cause building collapses and wash away several farms,’’ he said. He also said that the people living in prone areas should keep their environment clean, tidy and disease free. Shun Drug Abuse, Pharmacist Gali Sule Urges Youths

Gali Sule has called on the youths to join hands together to create awareness against drug abuse, especially among the students of tertiary institutions, with view to curb the menace. Musa A coalition of Civil Society Organization, under the umbrella of Prosperous Kano Initiative, has called on the security establishments in Kano state to identify, apprehend, and subsquently prosecute the sponsors and the masterminds of the mayhem which occured in the state during the recent nationwide protests which took place between Thursday 1st August to Sunday 4th August. This call was made by Comrade Kabiru Isah Jibril, the Convener of the association at a press briefing held today (Wednesday) in Kano, which was attended by the leaders of all organizztions that formed the coalition.
